My best character death was charging that illusionary dragon in the old Giants module series, the illusion of a sleeping dragon over a gorgon. Gung ho ranger with a fist full of protection from bloody near everything…charge!!! oops…illusion , saving throwing (like 4 or better) … oooooops natural 1. hooked, line and stinker.

The campaign idea… that’s far too D&D for me to do that sober. It also makes the big mistake of including a good guy in the fight, which is as a rule not the case.
Still, thank you for the concept, I can threaten to get drunk and do that and it would be a mighty threat.
