Because I love you, I bring you this… the slightly pudgy sunglassed super-hero/ninja magic guitar wielding pistolero actor/pop sensation from India, Shivaji Rao Gaekwad, screen name Rajinikanth, also known simply as… Superstar. (Not kidding.)

OMG no comments here yet, must leave a meaningful message, must watch clip, etc etc

Proudly showing off his newly-leased downtown apartment to a couple of friends late one night,
A drunk Maori led the way to his bedroom where there was a big brass gong hanging on the wall.

‘What’s that big brass gong for?’ one of the friend’s asked.

‘Issss nod a gong. Issss a talking Australian clock’ he drunkenly replied.

‘ A talking A ustralian clock – seriously?’

‘Yup.’ ‘Hmmm (hic).’

‘How’s it work?’ the second friend asked, squinting at it.

‘Just watch’ he said.

He picked up a hammer, gave the gong an ‘ear-shattering bash’ and stepped back.

His three mates stood looking at one another for a moment in astounded silence.

Suddenly, an A ustralian voice from the other side of the wall screamed,

‘For f*#k’s sake, you stupid Maori pri*#. It’s ten past three in the f*#king morning !!!’

I feel like that must have been in poor taste and that I should not tell you it was funny.

I feel I’ve heard that joke before, long ago, but not with Australians or Maoris.

In fact, the nationality of any of the characters is entirely superfluous and doesn’t add to the joke, so it could as well be left out and not make it sound so racist.

He is the highest paid actor in India, and the second highest in Asia, behind Jackie Chan.

Wow. Just wow. That was probably the coolest thing I’ve seen all week, despite being completely and totally ridiculous.

I know, right? That’s what I loved, it was stupid and awesome, all at the same time!

What is baffling is the complete apparent absence of anybody in the higher staff thinking “that might be totally ridiculous”…

Differing values of ridiculous, is my guess.

Wow, that video sorta made my eyes burn. It was kinda cool, as in like some good production effects, so it was entertaining to watch. It’s kinda like the dumpy basement dwelling guy who wins the lottery and says “I’m gonna spend a MILLION DOLLARS to make a video, and I’M gonna be in it, and I’m gonna be SOOOOO COOL!”. In the meantime he forgets that his name is “Geek-wad”? I guess if you hire enough extras, and absolutely ANYTHING becomes cool. Though I think the little Bali-wood dance moves were a neat touch, along with the mysteriously parked motorcycle.

Superstar is famous as a movie actor, and an outspoken political activist. He’s probably going into politics soon.

Worse than Hitler, but not quite Palpatine.

Maybe less megalomania, and a little more egotism. Seriously though, the cat is super-popular in India, so I don’t think it’s exactly right to paint him as a totally self-contained phenomena. There are lots of people and lots of cash encouraging him to behave this way.

BTW, he always wears wigs in these videos. Because he’s also mostly bald.

While reading the first two panels my eyes skipped ahead to the last panel art and I said to myself, “Ah, Bunker is freaking because there’s a DMPC”.

Distributed Memory Parallel Computer?

Oh, maybe Dungeon Master’s Player Character? You think he’d have noticed before now.
